Hey Jets fans,

Opening day of the NFL Draft is Saturday April 25 starting at 4pm. I thought it might be a fun off-season get-together for club members. The Jets currently have the number 17 slot in the first round. I spoke to Mo over at Peabody's and he's OK'd a drink and food (wings) special for us.

Please let me know if you plan on attending. I want to know if we'll have a decent crowd.

Also, I wanted to let you all know that the 2009 schedule is out and has been updated on the fan club website as well as on the blog. The Jets will play the Bucs here in Tampa on December 13th at 1pm... that couldn't be more PERFECT!!!

If anyone has any connections or ideas for a super-sized tailgate party at the stadium for this Jets/Bucs game please let me know ASAP so we can get the ball rolling. I'm planning on doing something really big for this. We need to figure out where specifically to do this thing, how to get a big enough area, maybe a sponsor or two, some advertising, etc.

A number of other fan clubs from up and down the east coast are planning on joining us too. This should be a major event for the fan club and I'll need help. More to come on that real soon including information on tickets.

Unfortunately since this year's Jets/Miami game in Miami is a Monday night game and because the Jets will be in Tampa this year, I'm planning on spending my time on doing something big for the Bucs game and not doing the road trip to Miami. Sorry. However, if someone else would like to undertake the planning of a Miami road-trip, feel free to step up and let me know.

I'm really looking forward to another exciting season of Jets Football and of hanging out with everyone again.
